Why have an online wedding diy gift registry? Last instalment!

What about a gift registry where you can have all the options discussed above? An online wedding gift registry where you can include any gift from any store you would like, money towards your honeymoon or gift vouchers from a favourite store?
With diy gift registry, you can do all this. The beauty with diy gift registry is that we don’t sell any gifts so therefore there are no restrictions – any item from any store can be included. This flexibility also means that items sourced from the internet can also be included as well as gift vouchers. For example, if you were organising your honeymoon through a travel agent that offered gift vouchers, why not include these on your online wedding gift registry? One of your gift items could be four $100 vouchers to go towards your honeymoon. Or in the instance where one of the gifts you would like is a very expensive plasma television. You wouldn’t expect any of your guests to buy it for you. Why not have a few gift vouchers on your online wedding gift registry for the store where you intend to buy the television from?
By having a variety of items for guests to purchase ensures that all your guests are happy with what they are giving you. For those guests that are happy to give cash, a gift voucher is a great option. And for those guests who would like to physically bring a gift to your wedding, they can choose one of the many gift options you have also included in your online wedding gift registry. And most importantly, everything you receive on the big day is something you really want or actually need that you have personally hand picked! Problem solved!

Why have an online wedding diy gift registry - continued!

The solution seemed to be that hosts had multiple gift registry’s. But this didn’t really solve the problem though as the issues that were encountered with the second gift registry were the same as with the first. And the whole process just took twice as long!
Next came the honeymoon gift registry and then the latest trend, which is giving money to a wishing well. Both these registry’s are ultimately the same – you receive cash as gifts from your guests. Now, most people around the same age of the bride and groom don’t generally seem to have an issue with giving cash as a present. However, it seems that the older guests at the wedding do. So generally what happens in this situation is that the guests who are uncomfortable with giving cash end up buying the bride and groom a present anyway. And hence, the original problem returns – the bride and groom end up receiving a gift that either they don’t need, don’t want or isn’t to their liking.
So what is the solution? Stay tuned....
